High risk pregnancy

Pregnancy is a natural, physiological phenomenon. Gynecologist advise that a woman should complete her family before 30 years of age. With advancement of age the egg quality becomes poor and ovarian reserve also gets depleted which may increase the possibility of high risk pregnancy. During pregnancy both mother and baby or either of them can be at risks. Causes of high risks may be before conception or after of even both.

  • High blood pressure, sugar or high liver enzymes,
  • Previous scar on uterus,
  • Placenta related problems,
  • Problems related to growth of the baby in utero

One should not get scared of the word “High Risk” It indicates that one has to be extra careful, consult a specialist gynecologist, follow all advises, take all medicines regularly. Plan your delivery at a well equipped hospital or maternity center where tertiary level nursery backup is available.
